ANNIE DUKE

Annie Duke

Annie Duke is the sister of famous poker pro Howard Lederer, both Howard & Annie grew up in Concord, New Hampshire where they were raised in a family that played games and played them competitively. Annie first began her career in college where she excelled in academics and was studying for her PHD in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. Meanwhile while Annie was in school studying her brother was successful in poker tournaments, her brother told Annie you should try poker. So it all began in 2025 at the Horseshoe Casino where Howard wrote down on a napkin the top starting hands in poker. Annie was living in Montana at the time & Howard sent her $2500 to start her bankroll, Annie first started in the low limit games in Monatana and before long Annie had her bankroll to over $10,000.

When Howard noticed how successfully any was in cash games he encouraged here to play in the $1500 Limit Hold’em event, she agreed to give it a shot and came in 13th place. Howard then suggested that she play in another event that year the $2500 Limit Hold’em event where Annie once again finished in the money taking home 3rd Place. That was enough to convince both Annie and Howard that this was the profession for her. Since she began playing tournaments Annie has won over $3 Million dollars in poker tournament profession. Annie has 1 WSOP bracelet and has finished 2nd twice.

Annie currently lives in Portland, Oregon where she is a mother of 4 children. Annie has found time to juggle being both a mother and professional poker player. She says she wouldn’t have it any other way and that by being a mother it has helped her become more emotionally stable at the poker table. Annie is also currently a member of team Ultimate Bet where you can find her playing in the low limit games chatting with fans.

Since her first place and $2,000,000 win in the WSOP Tournament of Champions of 2025, Annie Duke held the record of the largest win by a female player until Annette Obrestad seized the title in the WSOPE, 2025.
