Phil Takes Super Sunday Tournament Crown for the Animals!
Dogs winning at poker??? That is exactly what happened Sunday at Pedro’s Super Sunday Poker Tournament when Phil, having promised to donate all winnings from the tournament to local animal charities, took down the pot. The nine player tournament began with typical flash. Peter took down a massive pot giving him chip leader status. This chip “empire” fell nearly as fast as it rose, when he was called down on a big bluff. Virtually the next hand, his set of queens was busted by Phil’s straight. This put him out first, giving him the famous “jager of shame” shot. Recent tournament favorite Doyle was the next one in the losers lounge. Del, Robbie, and Jock were the next ones on the rail when Jock’s (10-10) was unable to crack Jason’s (KK). This set the bubble at Charlene, a visiting player from New Jersey, Jason, Big Tommy, and Phil. Big Tommy (JJ), in his “altered” state, was able to 
take down Charlene (77) when a seven was nowhere to be found. Jason was quick to follow in 3rd. This made for a colorful heads up match between Phil and Big Tommy. Phil was facing a 2:1 chip advantage, but had karma on his side. Phil (and the animal charity) was able to overcome the chip disadvantage and win the tournament after superior heads up play. Kudos Phil and I am sure the animals appreciate your contribution!!
